The Falls Church office of Carlyn Davis Casting is currently offering part time internships for the Spring Semester. These internships are unpaid, but school credit and travel stipend is offered. You do not need to be a student to apply, but please understand this is an unpaid internship. Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 9:15am to 5:30pm. The internship would run from January 14, 2009 through May 1, 2009. Interns are responsible to come in for at least 2 consecutive days a week. You may work more than 2 days if your schedule allows. Duties include answering busy phones, interaction with talent and clients, helping with Audio/Video during casting sessions, scheduling auditions, scouting talent at local theatres, etc. Strong computer skills and basic video camera knowledge (framing terms, camera use, etc) are a plus. Shooting will take place during the weekend of December 13th-14th in Washington, DC and/or Frederick. The film will be submitted to film festivals and competitions. A graduate student at VCU is working on a short, experimental image-based HD video. Looking for:
Shooting will take place sometime between November and January in Richmond, VA and should last between 4-7 days. Willing to discuss your schedule and work partly around it. The project will be shown in Anderson Gallery in May and subsequently in other fine art venues. Some non-sexual nudity required for the first part. No pay. Running September 12 - December 14, the Richmond Moving Image Co-op and Visual Arts Center present a four-month documentary film series, When Janey Comes Marching Home: Films about Women and War. The film series is presented in conjunction with the exhibition, When Janey Comes Marching Home: Portraits of Women Combat Veterans, a series of large-scale photographic portraits and accompanying oral histories of American women soldiers from the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
